Help for families
We can answer parents’ queries about current approaches to all aspects of the curriculum and can offer one-to-one sessions for ‘signposting’ advice and support as pupils move from one stage of education to the next.
As part of our service, we produce learning materials for parents to use at home with their children. These are free of charge and have proved to be extremely popular as they provide parents and carers with the opportunity to share in their children’s learning whilst spending quality time together as a family.
"Two of our daughters have been tutored by both Val and David. Our eldest daughter was falling slightly behind in both Math and English in year 5 at primary school. Another parent recommended Hooton Tutors and she was tutored by David. Within a few weeks I noticed a huge difference in her work and confidence, he taught her up to and beyond what we were expecting and she looked forward to her lessons! It really gave her the boost she needed ready for high school and now in year 10 she is expected to achieve grade 8 or 9 in both subjects. I think without the help of Hooton Tutors she would not have believed in her own ability.
When another of our daughters started to worry about her Math homework (year 2) I didn’t hesitate to get in touch. She has now been taught by Val for the past 6 months or so and again, her confidence in her own ability has increased considerably and is shown in how she gets on with any homework she has and in her results. I highly recommend."
